Paul Wheaton and Jocelyn Campbell spend a little time discussing Paul’s podcast style, and then move into intentional community. They use the examples of different communities for different points. They describe Damanhur, a very large community of artists in Italy that live in groups of 20; Alpha Farm by Eugene, Oregon, with its happily-in-place leadership; and Pragtree, north of Seattle, which was officially by consensus, and when one person was less than noble, all the other members left. Paul advocates the independent/consensus/dictator hybrid model, and describes how this more easily facilitates ejecting people from a community when that is needed. He additionally describes his experience sharing food in Greenlake, a neighborhood in Seattle. They had meals at $108 per person per month, and some pretty smooth kitchen life and living. Their split power bill was also considerably smaller than normal. Lastly, Paul brings up his own personal goal of buying land and starting a paul wheaton community.
